At The Day I Had Enough Courage

An office worker takes her lunch break in Martin Place. Frustrated and tired with where she is in her life, office politics, lack of time and sleep, and the feeling that she will never fulfill her true potential (whatever that was), she finds a place to eat her sandwich amidst the crowds.

She feels average and out of place; just another cog in the machine. But she has made a dare to herself. She has always liked Opera. When she is alone and knows the neighbours are not at home, she likes to turn up the stereo very loud and sing along with Joan Sutherland. She doesn't know how to sing to The Beatles, but she can sing along to Verdi. On this day she has made a bet with herself to have enough courage to sing in public, while everyone is looking. To prove something to herself. She's not quite sure what, but it's important.
